In times of uncertainty, effective leadership plays an important role in decision-making. but there isn’t just one way to do this – there are many different ways! So, what are your options when faced with uncertainty? Through my experience consulting various companies through Assuras, I have found that this works best for most companies.

1. Acknowledge uncertainty

When an uncertain situation arises, instead of becoming paranoid or panicked, effective leaders need to understand how this uncertain event happened and that there is no option but to acknowledge it. Rather than panicking, effective leaders should immediately start working on a plan that will help them survive this precarious situation. The leaders need to understand that they can only handle this situation by making a plan, devising strategies and executing them. They have to predict their decision and try to predict the outcomes that might occur if they make one of those decisions.

2. Create a vision you want to achieve

In uncertain times, creating goals and a vision is extremely important. Effective leaders are those who always have a clear vision through which they influence people to act on it. In uncertain times and unexpected events, leaders are vulnerable. They probably have no idea how to handle this situation and achieve the goals they were working on before, but effective leaders immediately begin to understand the situation and start working on a plan of action with a different vision that can be achieved during the uncertain times. time. Leaders need to work on a plan, identify the questions they want answers to, and evaluate options.

3. Create a group

After identifying the opportunities, the leaders should form a group of people within the organization who have creative ideas in their heads. The leader must select people who always think out of the box and share ideas. These discussions will help the leader gather ideas and make the right decision. In uncertain times, it is very difficult for the leader to make decisions alone, but if they form a group of effective employees, the leader’s task will become easier. And if many ideas are exchanged, the leader can make the right decision.

4. Act quickly

An effective leader is one who acts quickly to resolve the situation. To make decisions during uncertainty, the leader must act quickly instead of waiting for more information. All you have to wait is that it minimizes the number of options you have. Effective leaders understand the importance of acting quickly to save their organization and people from precarious situations. In uncertain times, only leaders and organizations that act quickly will survive and find ways to succeed.

One of the best examples of companies making decisions during uncertainty is Zoom. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Zoom sprang into action and grew into one of the most widely used video calling platforms in the world. Before the pandemic, they had a maximum of 10 million daily users, but after the pandemic, that number increased to 300 million. Through the decisions they made, they found a solution to the problem everyone was looking for. While there are many other apps like Skype, Google Meet and more, Zoom is one of the most reliable and easy to use. They have made the wise decision to market themselves as one of the most reliable and easy to use platforms. This also shows how effective leaders act quickly to grow their business.
