Issahaku started his career with Steadfast FC in Tamale, Ghana, in the Zone One of the Division One League in 2019. He was 15 years old at the time. He scored eight goals and set up five other goals in 13 games before the COVID-19 pandemic brought the competition to a halt.
International career
After doing well with the U-20 team in March 2021, CK Akonnor gave him his first call-up to the senior team. He played in two qualifying matches for the Africa Cup of Nations against South Africa and Sao Tome & Principe.
Fatawu was one of 28 players slated for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. He was the youngest player on the Ghana team and the fourth youngest player overall. On September 27, 2021, Fatawu scored his first goal for Ghana’s senior team against Nicaragua.
