David played his first World Cup match in Qatar at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. On 11 October 2021, Germany secured a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup by winning UEFA Group J. After the selection of the team, the coach made the choice to chose 26 men’s teams to make their debut in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. His coach, Hansi Flick, among others, confirmed his name, paving the way for his FIFA World Cup debut in 2022. David contributed to the squad as a defender.

David became a shooting star of Hoffenheim in 1899 after he joined the club and started doing many photo shoots in Heidelberg-Altstadt. In an interview, he said that Hoffenheim was a good Bundesliga team.
