Gary Carr (born 11 December 1986) is a well-known English actor, dancer, singer and musician who has worked in both film and stage. He played the lead role in the BBC TV series Death in Paradise and the US TV series The Deuce. He is best known for his role as American jazz musician Jack Ross in the ITV drama Downton Abbey.

Gary Carr was born on December 11, 1986 in London, England, UK under the birth sign Sagittarius. He also has a brother Daniel Carr who is a professional soccer player. Growing up in London, Carr had a penchant for performing, so he joined the National Youth Music Theater where he took part in a production called For Walls.
After that Carr joined the Croydon Youth Theater Organization CYTO where he performed in several shows. In 2003, he entered the Arts Education and Performing Arts College for his A levels.
