Outchef’d, the Food Network’s next culinary program, launches on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10 p.m. ET. Participants are included in the program without auditioning for the first time. They will be shocked to find out that they have been accepted right away.

In the new series, Outchef’d, presented by Eddie Jackson, confident home cooks who think they’re auditioning get the shock of their lives when they discover they’re going up against a world-class chef. These home cooks thrive in their own kitchen, but do they have what it takes to take on a top expert in a culinary battle?
The network announced the program on August 25, 2022, indicating it would begin with back-to-back episodes. Contestants will not only have to cook for themselves, but they will also compete against some of the show’s top chefs for a top prize of $5,000.

Eddie Jackson’s cooking show has an intriguing opening round. In the first round, the participants have to prepare a meal using a marked item. Eddie takes to the streets, looking for people to test and review the recipes. In addition, entrants must get at least one vote from each of the six normal people who will be rating their meals to win the tournament.
During the program, participants will compete against some of the industry’s top chefs, including Eric Adjepong, Anne Burrell, Maneet Chauhan, Scott Conant, Tiffani Faison, Amanda Freitag, Alex Guarnaschelli, Antonia Lofaso, Marc Murphy and Geoffrey Zakarian. Jane Latman, President, Home & Food Content and Streaming, Warner Bros. Discovery, spoke about the launch of Outchef’d with Food Network, saying:
“This series is the ultimate wish-fulfillment for the Food Network fan who is unexpectedly cast as the show’s protagonist.”
She went on to say:
“Some spectators watch culinary competitions and think to themselves, ‘I can do that!’” Outchef’d really puts it to the test by giving these outstanding chefs a once-in-a-lifetime chance to record it against a famous chef.
Who is the Season 1 Host of OutChef’d?
Eddie Jackson, a professional soccer corner and American chef, placed seventh in season 4 of the reality food competition show MasterChef in 2013. Eddie competed in season 11 of the Food Network series Food Network Star in 2015. He beat eleven other contenders to win the season. BBQ Blitz was Jackson’s first break as a food show host, as a reward for winning Food Network Star.
Furthermore, Jackson has served as a judge on Chopped. In 2021 he was team leader at BBQ Brawl, where he competed against Bobby Flay and Michael Symon. Additionally, Jackson acted as a judge on the 11th season of Halloween Wars, which began in October 2021.
