The second round of American Idol season 21 Las Vegas tryouts airs on ABC on Sunday, February 26 at 8 p.m. ET. The show will feature 14 vocalists from across the United States attempting to dazzle the judges with their singing and acts, including a country artist with no formal training. Cody Winkler, 25, only started performing professionally two years ago. He played melodies to himself while working on his property before that. Cody stated in an interview that music comes easily to him and that he was “mesmerized” after seeing the judges, ultimately delivering his best performance on stage.

Cody Winkler is a singer from Marion, Texas, and a graduate of Samuel Clemens High School. He performs all over the state and has over 1300 Instagram fans. In addition to being a landowner, Winkler also owns a transportation and construction business, which he regularly shares on his social media profiles. He is affiliated with Colt Records, based in Nashville, and has released two songs, ‘Fourteen Carat Thoughts’ and ‘Select Me on Your Way Down’.
