What could have ended the 30-year friendship between Tully and Kate, our Firefly Lane Girls Forever? We’ll find out this season, but first Kate must deal with the emotional impact of Johnny’s ill-fated tour to Iraq, while Tully must file a lawsuit after leaving her talk show and start her career from scratch.

“This drives her to seek answers about who she is and where she comes from, including a mission to discover the father she never met, against the desires of her mysterious hippie mother, Cloud. We see Kate and Johnny first fall in love in the 1980s, causing quite a bit of drama in the newsroom where they work, as Tully’s career soars and they spar (and flirt!) with brash sports reporter Danny Diaz…While the ladies go to school separately, they realize that all they really need is each other.”
Firefly Lane season 2 will also have “best friends for life who must face the ultimate test of their friendship and the way to keep other relationships in their lives,” according to Netflix. The teaser also shows Johnny healing from injuries sustained during his military service in Iraq, and suffering from something called PTSD.
