Jodie Turner Smith has apparently joined the cast of Season 4 of Sex Education. Her credits include The Last Ship (2017), Nightflyers (2018) and Anne Boleyn (2021). The news comes as countless stars say their final goodbyes to the program. Both Emma Mackey and Ncuti Trade in Goods, who play Maeve Wiley and Eric, have confirmed their departures from Sex Education after Season 4.
Numerous cast members quit Laurie Nunn’s TV show before production on the fourth season began. This consists of Olivia, Ola, Lily and Emily Sands, played by Simone Ashley, Patricia Allison, Tanya Reynolds and Rakhee Thakkar. Smith’s Turner inclusion comes as welcome news to fans amid the show’s cast upheavals. The actress revealed insights about her role in the famed program while attending the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday, February 19, 2023 in London.
According to Jodie Turner-Smith:
“You could see me on a Netflix show called Sex Education.”
When asked how it came about, she said Ncuti Gatwa was the driving force behind the decision. Without revealing much about her character, the actress said she would be tied to Gatwa’s Eric.
According to Variety, the 36-year-old English actor added:
“First of all, all my moments were with Ncuti Gatwa, who I DIE for and who is my favorite character in the show… So when he called and asked me to do it, I told him, ‘I don’t care how how much they pay, I do.
According to reports, her character is said to be Eric’s cousin and be stationed in the United Kingdom, Nigeria or Ghana. Turner-Smith isn’t the only newcomer to the cast. Among the newcomers are:
Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Thaddea Graham (Curfew, Us), Marie Reuther (Kamikaze), Felix MuftiAnthony Lexa, Alexandra James, Imani Yahshua.
All About Sex Education Season 4
According to many sources, season 4 of the Netflix show has finished filming and is nearing completion. The streamer hasn’t announced a release date yet, but the fourth season will most likely arrive in mid-2023. In terms of the story, Variety said season 4 of the fan-favorite series would “feature a mix of interesting faces old and new.” Also, Moordale Secondary School graduates will look for “an alternative location to learn – and romp – after the school lost funding and was sold to developers.”
Aside from sex education, Turner-Smith will star in two TV shows: Bad Monkey and The Acolyte. Murder Mystery 2 starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston will also feature her.
