Career
Nance joined the United States Navy in 1981 and specialized in maritime cryptology. He later became involved in various counter-terrorism, intelligence and combat operations, gaining skills in intelligence and counter-terrorism.
He took part in the military operations that followed the attack on US and French bases in Beirut in 1983, as well as in the US attack on Libya in retaliation for the terrorist bombing of the West Berlin disco in 1986. In 2001, Nance resigned from the army. Nance produced an essay titled “Waterboarding is Torture… period” in 2007 for the counterinsurgency site Small Wars Journal, in which she criticized waterboarding. Since then he has written many books, including ‘The Plot to Destroy Democracy’ in 2018 and ‘The Plot to Destroy America’ the following year.
