The Voice is back with a new season and a new group of performers eager to impress the judges with their acts. The structure of Season 23 of the Singing Competition will be similar to previous seasons, with judges Blake Shelton, Chance The Rapper, Niall Horan and Kelly Clarkson turning their chairs around and taking the performers into their teams if they are satisfied with the singer’s sound .
One of the contestants in particular may sound recognizable to the judges and viewers. Kason Lester is a singer from Lebanon, Tennessee. He has many tracks, including Born and Bred, and was last featured on season 17 of American Idol in 2019. He made it to the Honolulu Round of the tournament, finishing in the top 40.
Kason Lester, a The Voice candidate, has a significant number of followers on TikTok.
Kason Lester is a fruit farmer who managed a 200 acre estate called Lester Farms with his sibling at the time of his American Idol tryouts. He also dabbles in fishing, according to his Instagram account, which currently has more than 39,000 followers. Lester graduated from Belmont University in 2017 with a degree in music management and production. He wowed the American Idol judges in 2019 with his portrayal of Chris Janson’s Embrace Her. Katy Perry complimented Kason’s performance and predicted he would finish in the top ten.
However, he was eliminated from the competition in the third round along with vocalists Clay Page and Johanna Jones. After the performance, he published several versions of songs such as Post Malone’s Take What You Want and The Beatles’ Come Together. Love You Yet, Lester’s original country song, has been played more than 350,000 times on Spotify. In 2020 he published Invisible, another original. Kason revealed in a 2019 interview with The Wilson Post that he had always been a music fan and had been composing and performing tunes in secret for a long time. He went on to say:
“I tried different things, different paths, but it always led back to this, my passion for music and composing.”
Kason is also a Tik-Tok celebrity, with over 52.6 million fans and 296.3 million views as of the writing of this piece.
