As for the alternatives available to iPhone users (the Android app was discontinued in 2020), perhaps the most obvious is Apple’s own built-in Weather app. Company even has a support document titled “How Dark Sky Users Can Use the Apple Weather App,” which talks about how features from the former were added to the latter.
While the Dark Sky app “will no longer provide weather data,” according to a blog post by co-founder Adam Grossman, the crockery still has a very little life left. Developers can pull weather data from the API until March 31, 2023, despite Apple’s earlier announcement that it would be shutting down along with the app. (The company’s actual replacement called WeatherKitand even Android developers can integrate data from it if they want.) Likewise, the app’s website will be around for another three months.
