Kanye West and his clothing brand, YEEZY, have had several collaborations with high-profile fashion brands that have been anything but drama-free — including his most recent feud with Adidas in which he claimed they made up a shopping holiday using his namesake without his permission.
Now, West’s latest collaboration, Yeezy Gap, is being roasted online for the unorthodox way he’s reportedly asking for the items to be sold in-store.
Photos and videos of the merchandise in Gap’s stores appear to be sold in what can only be described as giant garbage bags, thrown into the center of the store with the garments inside, not even folded or organized by size or style.
“This is how they sell Yeezy GAP,” a Twitter user explained above one of the photos. “The sales associate said Ye got mad when he saw they had it on hangers and this is how he wanted it. They won’t help you find your size either, you just have to search everything.”

Twitter users had mixed reactions to the footage, some calling West a “genius” while others complained about the problems it would cause for Gap employees and customers.
“Yay. Underpaid GAP employees are allowed to clean up customer messes every 15 minutes and put all the stuff back in the bag because a billionaire thought it would look cooler,” a wrote.
“Balenciaga & Kanye’s Fetish With Homeless People As ‘Mode Muse,’ It’s Everything Wrong With Billionaires,” another said. “They no longer see people’s plight, they don’t see people suffering, they see opportunities to be ‘on sharp’ and take advantage… it’s disgusting.”
The collection was created in collaboration with designer Balenciaga, who also had his own view on trash-forward fashion after making it. headlines for selling a $1,790 “trash can” earlier this month — essentially a glorified drawstring bag meant to look exactly like a garbage bag.
Balenciaga also made famous a similar to each other Ikea tote bag that sold for $2,145.
The collaboration with Yeezy Gap was first announced in 2020 and consists of a mix of basics and accessories that are well above Gap’s usual price, but well below Balenciaga’s, with products ranging from $60 (baseball caps, seamless tanks) to $340 (jackets, parkas).
The partnership kicked off last month at the Times Square store, where Gap’s flagship store was transformed to Ye’s liking and to represent the essence of the collection.
“Gap’s flagship store in Times Square has been reimagined and distilled to its most essential form in Yeezy Gap Engineered By Balenciaga’s vision of utilitarian design,” Gap said in a statement. pronunciation at the time.
ukbusinessupdates.com has contacted Gap for clarification regarding the retail plan to sell the merchandise from the collection.
