Her Marriage to Steve Harvey
In 1989, Steve went to Arlington, Texas, for work as a stand-up comedian when he met Mary, who at the time was working as a makeup artist in a cosmetics store. There was clear instant attraction between the two and they started dating. There were reports that they got married after a relationship of less than a year. However, Mary said in a 2011 interview that they lived together for six years before getting married in 1996.

It also wasn’t until 2009 when she started receiving $40,000 a month, but it stopped after ten payments, bringing the total to $400,000. In 2017, twelve years after the divorce, she sued Steve Harvey for $60 million for “killing her soul,” which translates into severe mental pain and emotional distress.
