Early life and Alaska
Glenn grew up with a love of the outdoors and nature, as he grew up in a house near a forest in Vermont, far from the nearest town. His family did not like being close to civilization, and because of their location, there were no schools nearby. He was home-schooled, learning to read, write and communicate, among many other lessons with his parents as teachers.
He loved being in contact with nature, learning to look at animals, weather and plants, and many other events.
During his childhood he learned to hunt, fish, collect, craft items for survival and use them. He did not remain cut off from the outside world as his family eventually moved into technology and enjoyed the benefits of television, internet and many other things. As he matured, he began to live a more normal life closer to cities and other people. However, he still longed for the independence nature brought him; in the mid-1990s he got to know Alaska and decided to move there.

In 1999, Villeneuve left his hometown and moved to Alaskathe state located in the extreme northwestern part of North America, and is identified by its harsh cold climate and its vast, largely undeveloped land area.
Although it is one of the largest states in the US, it is also one of the least populated due to the lack of comfortable living conditions for most of the year. Most of the inhabitants are descendants of the indigenous people of the area, although their population also consists of descendants of various colonies from centuries past.
Few people like Glenn decide to voluntarily move to Alaska. Some moved there during the gold rush, others moved there in recent years to live more self-sufficient and survival lifestyle. Like his childhood, he spent many months alone in Alaska, living in a cabin with most of the exterior subzero.
For a time, he lived in a tent while building his hut and was even reported to have been attacked by wolves, though he survived the encounter unscathed. He lived as a hunter in Alaska and subsisted on the meat of animals. This eventually attracted television producers in its way.
Living below zero
Glenn was given the opportunity to become a television personality, one of the main cast members of the show.Living below zero”, which shows people living in various remote places in Alaska, surviving and living through seasonal activities or subsistence. He accepted, as working with the show would mean more exposure for his passion and a good payday for his family.
He was initially shown as living alone in Chandalar, some 100 miles from the nearest town of Fairbanks and quite close to the Arctic Circle.
He wasn’t the only one featured in the show as it also featured Sue Aikens, Andy Bassich along with his family, sled dog trainer Jessie Holmes, Ricko Dewilde and Erik Salitan. Later, the show revealed that he didn’t actually live alone, but was simply away from his family for months to help them get food and other needs.
He became a fan favorite after his family took on more of a role on the show; they were shown as a true blended family with some of their children from previous relationships, but they all lived together, and had different characteristics.
Success and life after the show
Villeneuve remained a critical part of “Life Below Zero” for many years, earning a substantial salary. Sometime around the 11th season, producers approached him again and told him that he would no longer remain a regular cast member of the show as they didn’t need to film even more of his endeavors. He understood and slowly began to become less of a main feature of the show, although he was still tied to it.
With the money he earned, his family moved and settled in Fairbanks, where they live today.
In recent years he has become more one lifestyle blogger in Alaska, where he showcased some of his life’s endeavors while keeping his followers informed. He loves technology and uses it to show his love of the outdoors. He spends a lot of time with his family – they all train constantly to keep fit. He also blogs a bit about food, showcasing his meals for a day, including food he hasn’t eaten in years.
He also aspired to fly and began taking lessons so that one day he could fly planes himself.
Private life
Glenn met his first wife shortly after he moved to Alaska and while few details are known about her, she is likely descended from the Alaskan Native people as shown by his two children with her who were featured on the show . They divorced sometime in the late 2000s, and he met and started a relationship with Trisha Kazan, and the two started living together in 2014. They later got married and they have a child together, while he also adopted her child from a previous relationship.
