In her early twenties, Lauren met Andrew Silverman through a mutual friend.
The socialite was reportedly head over heels for the banker and property developer, and luckily he felt the same way. The couple married in 2005 in New York in a royal wedding ceremony and in 2006 Lauren gave birth to their son Adam. Sources close to the couple claim that their marriage quickly began to fall apart due to Andrew’s work schedule, which included long office hours, travel and staying away from home and his family.
Lauren met Simon Cowell through her husband, as they had been friends for a long time, in 2006 while vacationing at the Sandy Lane resort in Barbados. Her affair with Simon only became public knowledge when they announced she was 10 weeks pregnant with his baby – they had reportedly been dating for a year before she got pregnant. He spent his time focusing on his son, but in March 2014, he made a statement to the New York Observer, asking for respect and privacy during such a challenging time in his life. He also said that while the experience had taught him a lot, he wanted to move on and focus on his son, his job and a healthy life for both of them.
Andrew’s business partner and brother, Alex, spoke out against Lauren in an interview with The New York Post, blaming her for the affair, saying she cannot be turned “into a golden child” and has “very bad roots.” Lauren and Andrew share physical and legal custody of Adam. In August 2013, Lauren released a statement regarding her relationship with and divorce from Andrew Silverman: “I am determined to work things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son. I hope for some space and privacy to process this.’
