Who is Aikuros?
Hyoon was born on June 12, 1995 in the United States of America. She is an illustrator, social media personality and Twitch streamer, best known for initially gaining fame on the website Instagram under the name Aikuros, featuring illustrations of her favorite anime and games. Over the years, she has transitioned into more of a video game streamer, illustrating only occasionally.

Early life and online beginnings
At a young age, Aikuros developed a love and passion for video games.
One of the first she played was one of the “Pokemon” games – otherwise known as Pocket Monsters in Japan. Pokemon has become a worldwide phenomenon, popularizing the fictional creatures that can be captured and trained to fight against others in the game. As she got to know more games, she also developed a taste for first-person shooters (FPS) and more competitive games. One of the first FPS games she played was “Counter-Strike”, a mode of the game “Half-Life”, which would later become one of the most popular competitive shooters on PC.
Besides games, she enjoyed watching anime and spent part of her time drawing and illustrating. She got really good at it and after she later created an account on Instagram, she started posting pictures of herself alongside her illustrations. Instagram is a photo sharing site that has been responsible for the fame of many. Her following on the site quickly grew significantly as she posted more selfies and artwork.
Transition
One of her first most popular works on Instagram was an illustration of the character Kageyama Tobio, from the popular manga and anime franchise “Haikyuu!!” The show focuses on high school student Shoyo Hinata who is on his way to fulfill his dream of becoming one of the top high school volleyball players in Japan.
He develops a friendship with a former rival Kageyama and joins Karasuno’s high school team, who begin to compete with some of the top teams in Japan thanks to their desire to reach their full potential. It is one of the most popular animes in recent years.
With her increasing fame, more people started requesting illustrations or commissions that would bring additional income. However, she later got tired of constantly drawing and had trouble fulfilling some orders, so she changed her online account to a more personal site and posted pictures of herself. She still occasionally posted a few illustrations ranging from “Pokemon” to more recent hits like “Kimetsu no Yaiba”.
Her fame continued to grow as more people became interested in and attracted to her work.
Video game streaming
Wanting to interact more with her followers and earn money, Aikuros created an account on Twitch, a popular video game streaming platform that allows people to broadcast themselves playing games, while interacting with an audience. It has proven to be a lucrative avenue for many, especially if one finds a captive audience that can consistently bring in donations or subscriptions. She did some live streaming first, showing off some of her artwork or creating some from scratch.
She later tried video game streaming, playing classic games before later moving on to “Pokemon Heart Gold” and “Pokemon Soul Silver”, remakes of “Pokemon Gold and Silver” and released for the DS. It was part of a series of remakes of older “Pokemon” games, which she played as they reminded her of her first time playing “Pokemon”. She also plays the game “Animal Crossing”, which has become a hit in 2020 due to its many new features. Like many simulation games, the video game offered a way out, especially for those who were in quarantine. People could also communicate online and perform various tasks through the game.
One of the attractive parts of the game is interacting with villagers who are anthropomorphic animals, who engage in various activities or help one’s character from time to time.
Recent Efforts
For the past few months, Aikuros has been stuck at home due to quarantine restrictions, mostly posting online or playing online video games. She has stayed at home to avoid becoming infected with the coronavirus that is affecting many parts of the world. As such, she streams more consistently and has even started In-Real-Life (IRL) streams where she just chats with her viewers.

She once had a YouTube channel, on which she mainly posted videos of her playing “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive”, but that later became inactive as she invested more in streaming. She also plays the video game “Valorant”, an online multiplayer shooter created by Riot Games, known for its hit game “League of Legends” (LoL). This game takes much of what made “Counter-Strike” and “Overwatch” successful by implementing them into their game. While still in a closed beta, the game has received a lot of attention and is rumored to be a newer generation shooter that could dethrone “Counter-Strike” in the competitive or eSports aspect of things.
Private life
Aikuros is single and although she has gone on dates, she has not yet had a long-term relationship. She has dated a few other notable personalities in streaming, YouTube, and Instagram, but they’ve mostly been dates that didn’t go anywhere. She misses her friends very much as she has not been able to see them due to quarantine.
Her passion for video games is one of her biggest reasons for her current career. She started game development in college, although it is unknown if she works professionally as a game developer or an illustrator. She’s probably mostly focused on streaming because of the community she’s already developed. She also has a lot of Pokémon collectibles in her house.
