Born on June 27, 1992 in Fujian, China, Xi Mingze is best known as the only child of China’s most prominent political leader, Xi Jinping. Nicknamed Xiao Muzi, she is often referred to as the Chinese Princess or the Secret Princess of China in the media due to her status as the child of one of the most influential people in the world.

Early life and education
Most of Mingze’s life has been kept out of the spotlight, even as her father rose to political power, as he wanted to keep her away from any negative attention. Because of her father’s status, she lived a very retired lifetried to keep a low profile as much as possible, which also meant hiding her identity most of the time, even under pseudonyms at school.
The wealth in her family meant she had many options when it came to schooling.
In 2006, she entered Hangzhou Foreign Languages School (HFLS) where she focused on the French language. HFLS is one of eight language schools in the country and is considered one of the most prestigious of its kind. After graduating from high school, she enrolled in Zhejiang University, which is also located in Hangzhou, and is one of the most selective, prestigious and oldest in the country.
Continuing education and public performance
Although she was already part of a top university, Mingze only stayed there for her freshman year and chose it move to the US so she could enroll at Harvard University.
The university is often rated the best in the world and is a member of the prestigious Ivy League, a group of private universities. They are among the oldest in the US and offer a top class education, with many of their graduates making it big in their respective careers. Harvard is also known as one of the most expensive schools in the world.
While in college, she made her first public appearances in 2008, as an aid worker in the aftermath of the Sichuan earthquake. A few years later, she first appeared with her parents, during the celebration of the Lunar New Year, in Liangjiahe Village, Yan’an, Shaanxi.
In 2014, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree and then returned to Beijing, China. Even during her life as a student, she was largely withdrawn.
Father – Xi Jinping
Jinping is the son of communist revolutionary Xi Zhongsun, one of those purged during the Cultural Revolution. He was a teenager when his father died, and because of his biological connection, he was exiled to Yanchuan County, where he lived near the small village of Liangjiahe. During this time, he remained politically connected and later enrolled in Tsinghua University.
Growing up, he gained a lot of political influence, especially in the coastal provinces of China. He was appointed governor of Zhejiang and then became secretary of the communist party, replacing Chen Liangyu. He was believed to be the successor to then Supreme Leader Hu Jintao, who served as Vice President from 2008 to 2013.
He was also appointed vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and during the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, he became the first general secretary. During his administration, he began to implement measures of discipline and unity within his party, particularly by advocating against corruption, which led to the downfall of many former Communist Party officials.
He tightened many of the country’s restrictions, leading to censorship and the country’s notorious mass surveillance.

Another step that Jinping initiated was strictly internet censorship in China to help maintain sovereignty over the country’s digital space. He also tried to build strong relations with other countries, especially Japan, other Asian countries, Europe and Africa. His rule has also led to a more aggressive claim to the South China Sea. Although he holds the highest position in the country, he also holds numerous positions in various institutions.
He helped form China’s National Security Commission and is its chairman. He also restructured and modernized the military. Wanting to stay in power longer, he proposed lifting term limits on the presidency in 2018. Currently, his titles include Paramount Leader, Leadership Core of the Communist Party of China (CPC), General Secretary of the CPC, President of the CPC, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC). He is a proponent of what he calls the Chinese dream inspired by the American Dream. To this end, he is also striving for an integration of independent nations such as Hong Kong and Taiwan, which want to become part of China.
Private life
Mingze is single and there is no documentation of her romantic endeavors. It is very difficult for her to get into a relationship because of her father’s position and her withdrawn personality. She didn’t go to many social events even as a student and preferred to stay at home. She has been described as an avid reader, with access to a large collection of books. She is also very interested in fashion.
