Sony’s latest state of affairs, which showed some third-party games coming to both console and VR, was exactly what Sony said it would be. There weren’t really any surprises, but there were some good gameplay trailers. The new trailer for Resident Evil 4 Remake was especially intriguing as it hinted at the game’s departure from the original title. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, on the other hand, looked a bit disappointing. But at least the gunfight looks nice. I’d like to try it.
While I was enjoying the state of play, Warner Bros apparently revealed the existence and possible release of Mortal Kombat 12 in 2023. My guess is it was meant to be revealed at a special event, like E3, in rather than a casual income call – but what will you do? Anyway, the good news is that Mortal Kombat 12 is in development. I’m pleasantly surprised, as I assumed the next game in NetherRealm’s repertoire would be Injustice 3, but I much prefer this one.
Earlier this week, Tango Gameworks announced that gaming icon Shinji Mikami is leaving the company he founded in 2010. There’s no word on where he’s going yet, but considering he’s been a part of gaming since the 90s, I wouldn’t blame him. when he retires. Tango, meanwhile, is still going strong since the release of Hi-Fi Rush (Mikami served as executive producer).
Since I don’t have a PS VR2 yet, it looks like I’ll have to stick to regular console and PC titles this week. I’m still playing a little bit more of Octopath Traveler II and Like a Dragon: Ishin – two games that are very confusing to mix together in the soup that is my brain. Next month should be a doozy with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse on the way.
