Put it in your calendar: Samsung is organizing the next Galaxy Unpacked on February 1. The company is officially confirming a date it accidentally confirmed a few days ago. The event will take place at the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco, and while Samsung isn’t saying exactly what will be announced, it is almost certainly the Galaxy S23 series.
The company is also bringing back its pre-order reservation incentives for those eager to claim a yet-to-be-named device. Through place a reservation, you get $50 in Samsung store credit if you track and pre-order one device or $100 if you pre-order two devices — all of that assumes people can actually place pre-orders, which proved to be a pain last year. Fortunately, there is no obligation, so you don’t have to buy one sight unseen.
The event itself kicks off on Wednesday the first at 10am PT and will also be streamed live. If rumored, the S23 series could feature some interesting camera upgrades, such as the debut of a 200-megapixel sensor in the Ultra. The S22 Ultra was already one of our favorite mobile camera systems of 2022, so we can’t wait to see what February 1st brings.
