Thatgamecompany has the details of his Passage season for Sky: Children of the Light as the latest update to the popular game.
The new season begins on April 17 and runs through June 25. Live operations like this help Sky retain its players and continue to generate revenue over time.
In Season of Passage, players discover ancient traditions and join dozens, even hundreds, of others in rites that challenge them to work towards a goal without leaving anyone behind. They will experience the memories of four teenage Spirits navigating the ups and downs of creating a community.
And beyond these stories, the season expands the ways players can express themselves with new cosmetics, including an instrument players can use to create original music.
During the season of Passage, players experience the memories of four teenage ghosts navigating the ups and downs of creating a community. Along the way, players can team up with others in all-new seasonal missions and unlock a range of new cosmetics, including an instrument that allows them to create original music.
In the update, players can take part in the Seasonal Quests, each a rite that challenges initiates to work towards a goal without leaving anyone behind. These quests begin after sunset, each in a different part of Sky. All quests can be completed separately, but from the second quest the rituals are held with larger groups of Skykids.
Players can purchase a Season Pass ($10) and will be able to unlock all items in Seasonal Spirits’ Friendship Trees and the Ultimate Gifts offered by the Season Guide. The three-piece Gift Pack bundle ($20) comes with two gift cards to give to friends in the game. All players with a pass also receive 30 bonus season candles.
Sky: Children of the Light is an interactive social play experience that users can enjoy peacefully, collaboratively and expressively while connecting with others. Last year’s Season of Aurora concert, which brought together thousands of groups in real-time in an interactive environment, recently received a Webby nomination and a NYX Award.
Sky: Children of the Light has over 160 million downloads and is available on the App Store, Google Play, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation.
