YouTube is testing another benefit for its Premium subscribers that offers a higher bit rate than existing 1080p streams. The option, called “1080p Premium”, is currently being tested for a small number of users and appears to increase the bitrate of video streams by a few Mbps. It could be a nice option for subscribers who primarily watch on smartphones, where 1080p resolution screens are much more common than 4K.
Finally, if you missed the PlayStation update yesterday, my colleague Ash Parrish has a great collection of the most interesting trailers. Personally, I’m most excited about it Baldur’s Gate 3 finally gets an official release date: August 31. It used to have a vaguer “August 2023” release window.
