For many of us, Twitter’s “For You” is filled with tweets and replies to Elon Musk’s tweets. Not everyone gets the Elon-first feed, but Monday afternoon more than a few people noticed something was different.
Some of us on here The edge are seeing more Musk replies than usual, and I personally counted five at the top of my feed, with many more among tweets from other users. The same goes for some accounts that don’t even follow Elon Musk.
As reported by Platform game‘s Zoë Schiffer and Casey Newton indicate internal Twitter data that although Musk’s account rose to a peak in search results in April 2022, engagement has dropped significantly since then and engineers have not found a problem with Twitter’s algorithm.
Over the weekend, Musk said Twitter has made some sort of change to fix this “visibility problem,” with the billionaire’s CEO indicate that 95 percent of his tweets weren’t “delivered.” I’m not sure if this is entirely related to this Elon-filled feed, but I hope Twitter fixes this issue soon – unless the new mandate is to give the boss more views by any means necessary.
